Looking at textures and layers.

While discovering my new urban environment I have been drawn to the colours and textures of industrial structures and buildings. Although originally focusing on scrap yards and discarded objects , I have become more interested in the textures and layers of old buildings and abandoned areas .Peeling paint ,  torn away posters,  traces of  images , decaying , decomposing,  weathered , distressed surfaces. Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on translating these qualities in my own work.
